Fallout 3 - Xbox 360
I am aware that I stated how utterly infatuated I was with Fable 2 in my last blog, but all of that has been completely overshadowed by the game I have currently been occupied with. I have actually been enjoying it probably since shortly after I finished with Fable, which is quite an impressive amount of time for one game. Fallout has everything I could ask for in the type of game it is, unlike Fable, which I looked back on with a feeling of emptiness, due probably to the incredible lack of story which left no rewarding feeling to the player upon completion of the main quest.
Fallout has story, a great combat system that has the whole limb targeting thing, badass leveling, perks, and upgradeable skills (brings me back to my Runescape days), and a massive overworld that truly sets in the mood of the game's post-apocalyptic setting. Never, outside of Zelda games perhaps, have I ever been able to be so immersed into a game world. What I found most stood out when I compared Fable to Fallout, was that Fable's claim to fame has always been the ability to have your character be good or evil and how that affects the game world. From my experience, Fallout's karma system actually acomplishes this at the same level as Fable.
I don't mean to say that Fable is a bad game in any way shape or form. It is far from that. In the shadow of Fallout however, it stands no chance. I only compare the two because of the closeness in their genre, their release, and when I experienced them.
I have not even come close to finishing my experience with Fallout 3, but I'd already rank it number 2 on my favorite games of 2008 list. After No More Heroes at number 1. And before Fable 2 at number 3.
Thanks for reading. Next blog I'm gonna review something.

I felt the same, Fable 2 was absolutely awesome until I played Fallout 3 -- then it just loses it's shine for some reason.
