RPG's and my brain

My pride and joy Fire Emblem character here.

Pretty dumb how I grew and emotional attachment to a random video game character who has no attachment to the actual story of the game and is more or less a filler, eh?

Well, since I dubbed the story for Fire Emblem: DS pretty much a pointless shoddy piece of work only kept in this game due to it being a port of the original NES game, I made up my own story.

Funny thing about it, whenever I play anything open-ended like this I always grow an attachment to a character my brain seemingly picks randomly. Then, most of the time, I would start up a random back story attached to that character or even the whole game.

Now, I don't wanna retell the story I made up because I'm a shitty writer and it'll only sound good in my head, I ask you, the reader of this FINE blog, to share your opinions on this habit.

Very normal occurence, nothing strange/dumb about it.
Particularly since you're still young, and therefore assuming with imagination and plentiful free time, it's to be expected. I personally play extensive RPGs etc less and less, but with practically all games I try to immerse myself within the experience, feeling from a self-desired protagonist's perspective, and occasional 'fan-wanking' with crafting own backstory/motives. Safe to say it's what would be desired of the player from the creators.

He's an ex-mafia, martial artist fighter pilot bounty hunter. She's a hot 70 year old cryogenically unfrozen amnesiac crack-shot waif perpetually on the run from astronomical gambling debts. They fight crime. . .IN SPACE.

Have I been attached to a video game character? Yes. Make up my own stories about game characters? Not so much. But I can see the propensity for it, so rock on with caring about your characters.

And I assume this is an imported/pirated copy of FE: Shadow Dragon, since it only came out today? That or you've played so extensively that you already have a level 20 Hero on your roster.

Ah. The magic of the imported European version.

I did R4 it, though.
