Just so you guys know...

I am still quite actively working on HM -- just saying in case you guy's think I've been leaving the place for dead(I visit every day).

EDIT:
Also, suggestions needed on what you'd like changed/improved in the below screenie.

I wanna align the 'HYPE' in the logo to the side of the content area better, and raise the search bar so it's next to the header nav, but otherwise I think it looks fine.

Also, IE now renders it (mostly) fine, except it fucks up on fixed positioning, but thats IE for ya :/

Really now...

02 Oct 2008, 16:32

Okay, so I've been pretty much coding HM 100% in Firefox 3, alternating with Safari and Google Chrome depending on my mood, and it displays 100% pixel perfect in those browsers, which is actually very rare, and something I didnt expect.

But today, I'm curious ysee, I wonder how it'll display in IE ysee, so I boot up the bucket of shit that is IE7, load HM on my localhost, with the awesome new design set as default, and this is the twisted sight that befalls my eyes...

Really now, that's just cruel.

Admiring ones own potential

28 Sep 2008, 21:04

Heya guys, lately I've been really pushing hard in a few hobbies and areas of my life, and to be honest I'm really pleased with the outlook of a few things.

First off, HM is soon going to get a full design, and I'll be pushing HM as much as possible once it's done. We've already got a sliver of activity, even though I've done sweet fuck all with it since launch, so the potential growth we can expect when I actually start pushing this thing is really something I'm nervous about.
Nervous because by the time we get big, I'll probably be a wrestler, and I'll more than likely also be doing web design, so I'm nervous about whether I'll be able to keep up with those two activities and keep running HM at 100%

Speaking of web design, after finishing HM's design I think I'll probably use it as a base for my own free phpBB designs.
I'll probably start selling custom phpBB designs too.

As for Wrestling -- I'm trying hard as fuck to find a new job so that I'll have the time and energy to start again....

You guys make me smile

09 Sep 2008, 23:38

Since the last time I visited HM, which was yesterday, we have grown by 80 or so posts.
In less than a week we have gotten our first 280+ posts, all from less than 30 users.

I havent even mentioned the blogs, but at this moment, I noticed the Googlebot spidering HM on our online users page.
This is before I've even SUBMITTED HM to be spidered, and from what I'd read it can take weeks to be spidered even then, so guys, thanks a heap for the activity, I didnt expect this much action before I launched the full design (which is coming along wonderfully).

I hope we get even better growth after the full design hits, and doubly hope I'll be prepared for any influxes of activity.

Progress on HM's proper design

05 Sep 2008, 19:43

So far, the Forum Index is pretty much done, and viewforum is just in need of some tweaking -- quite awesome considering I've had about 2 hours of work on it.

The look I tried to build with the current design was that of a NES, and so to keep familiarity with the current, I'm going for a "NES at Midnight" kinda style.
You'll see what I mean when the design's done.

When I launch the new design, I'll also be going nuts with trying to promote HM -- I'll be doing up sigs, userbars, and cashing in on those $50 of free Adsense adwords I got when registering HM's hosting.

Hopefully, we can make HM big.
